Terry Fox Run

Today was the Terry Fox run with Tuscany School and Twelve Mile School. We had such a good time, even with the winter weather rolling in today. Thank you to all of our school wide parent volunteers that helped make this event so successful!

Mrs. Mask's AM kindergarten (BLUE group) will be participating with The Happiness Museum as indicated on the note that was sent home yesterday. Please send an item on Monday, September 30th. It will stay in the classroom and sent home on Friday, October 4th.

ORANGE shirt day on is on Monday, Sept.30. Orange shirt day is to promote awareness about Indigenous residential school system and the impact on their communities. It is the day we honor the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada.

 Since winter seems to have arrived early, please have your children dressed for the weather as we will continue to go outside. It is also a good idea to label your child's belongings with both first and last names. 

As a reminder, if parents could provide a change of clothing in their child's backpack that would be greatly appreciated. Please put the extra clothes in a ziplock bag that can stay in the bottom of your child's backpack.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Early Literacy   I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences. I can identify my favourite stories and books. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity.
