Today we painted our texture collage. We experimented with mixing colours. What happens when you add white to your paint colour? What happens when you add black?

All classes had gym today. We worked on relay races and passing skills.

We read Scribble, and practiced making wavy lines. Try making these lines at home.

Mrs. Mask's AM kindergarten (BLUE group) folders came home today with a notice about The Happiness Museum. Please send an item on Monday September 30th. It will stay in the classroom and sent home on Friday October 4th.

ORANGE shirt day on is on Monday. Orange shirt day is to promote awareness about Indigenous residential school system and the impact on their communities. It is the day we honor the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada.

 AM Kindergarten
On Monday, we will have a Terry Fox walk with the AM students around our field. The students will have a snack provided after our walk. That way all students will be able to participate in a Terry Fox walk.

AM students are still welcome to join us tomorrow for the school wide Terry Fox as long as they are with an adult.  If you are planning to attend, please meet us in the field at TMC at 9:30am.

Tomorrow is a PM kindergarten day. Please come dressed prepared for the weather as we have the Terry Fox run.

As a reminder, if parents could provide a change of clothing in their child's backpack that would be greatly appreciated.  Please put the extra clothes in a ziplock bag that can stay in the bottom of your child's backpack.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

Learning Intentions for the Week -  Early Literacy   I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences. I can identify my favourite stories and books. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity. I can compare quantities 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to post a daily read aloud in the read aloud section which is located on the left hand side of the blogger.
