Today was picture day. Big smiles all around!
We read, The Button Box and each got a cup of buttons to try and sort. What did you notice about the buttons? Size, colour, shape, number of holes, texture etc.
The students then paired off and played a button game. A cup was filled with buttons. We swirled the buttons around . Each person closed their eyes and picked one button. Once we picked a button we opened our eyes and described the button. Then we had to find the similarities between the two buttons. Can you play this game at home? You can use a number of different objects to play.
We read, Soft and Smooth, Rough and Bumpy. We learned about our sense of touch. We had mystery bags and had to describe how each item in the bag felt.
Mrs. Mask's classes went to gym class.
Mrs. Conley and Mrs. Watterson's class had music.
It was a beautiful day so we took a break and went to the playground in the morning. Hopefully we can go tomorrow afternoon as well.
Mrs. Watterson's class had a few students present an item for their happiness Museum. They had to explain what it was and why it made them feel happy. We will continue to share the rest of the green group this week, so please bring in your item if you haven't already done so.
Please send your student with a empty cracker box tomorrow's art project if you haven't already done so. Scholastic book orders are due Sept 30. Please see the flyers for information if you are interested in ordering books for your child.
The Terry run on Friday. The PM kindergarten will be attending school on Friday. AM kindergarten students are welcome to join us on the run but MUST be accompanied by an adult as it is a PM kindergarten Friday.
