Thanks to all of our volunteers who made it out to Glenbow Ranch with us yesterday. We had a very windy day but the kids were troopers. Today we drew our favourite part of Glenbow Ranch in our journals today - ask me what I saw, or did, or enjoyed the most.

We also made Number City in our visual journals and made corresponding towers of snap cubes to match the correct numeral. Ask me which one was the highest? the shortest? The tower in the middle...

We also had a practice fire drill with the fire department this morning. The fire department was very proud of how quickly and quietly we got out of the building. Ask me what the 3S's stand for.

We had lots of time at centers - ask me where I enjoyed playing with my friends. Thank you to our yellow group for sharing their Happiness Museum items with us this week!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

Learning Intentions for the Week -  Early Literacy   I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences. I can identify my favourite stories and books. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity. I can compare quantities 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to post a daily read aloud in the read aloud section which is located on the left hand side of the blogger.
