Glenbow Ranch

The AM kindergarten had a fabulous day exploring Glenbow Ranch.  We are very thankful that the weather cooperated for us.  Many thanks to the many parents who volunteered to help make the day so successful!

Emily M. “I saw a broken house.  We found 2 fireplaces. Our teacher told us that there use to be a house connected to them.”
Sarah “We saw a house, it was broken, it looked like rocks.  There were trees that can make sunscreen.”
Ethan “I saw bones in the chicken coop.  I liked the school bus.”
Sadie “I saw a broken-down truck.”
Cole “I saw birds nest.”
Emma F. “I saw cows, there were lots.”
Will “Trees can make sunscreen.”
Isabella “I saw some cows.  I saw a sleeping mouse.”
Charlotte “I found a bird’s nest.”
Raidin “I saw a broken-down carriage where you would put horses in the olden days.  I saw a stuffed hawk and a badger in the visitor center”
Knox “I saw the mountains.”
Isaac J. “I saw big grass.”

Brooklyn “I liked doing some drawings in the visitor center.”

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

Learning Intentions for the Week -  Early Literacy   I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences. I can identify my favourite stories and books. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity. I can compare quantities 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to post a daily read aloud in the read aloud section which is located on the left hand side of the blogger.
