Today we read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" by Laura Numeroff. Many interesting things happen to the mouse if you give him a cookie. As we begin to explore the elements of story, students were challenged to draw pictures that correspond to the what happened first in the story, what happened in the middle of the story and what happened last. Please ask your child to share their first, then, last story about the mouse's adventures with you.
In math, we have begun to explore the concept of a set of numbers. Using manipulatives, students were asked to create sets (groups) of 3, 5, 7. Please have your child practice making sets of numbers at home.
Our first year student teachers were at school with us in the morning. The student teachers had the opportunity to read a story to the students.
Tomorrow is Glenbow Ranch field trip for the PM kindergarten. There is no AM Kindergarten tomorrow. Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather as we will be outside all day, good walking shoes or boots are very important. Please make sure to pack a lunch and snacks for your child that is easy to eat outside, no peanut butter please. Please make sure your child has a full water bottle. Please make sure to pack a toque and gloves/mitts as it can be quite chilly outside in the morning. Drop off and pick up for the Glenbow Ranch field trip will be at the regular kindergarten doors. We are looking forward to an exciting day exploring the ranch!
Thank you to all that returned their field trip forms so quickly. If you have not completed a field trip form for the Ranch, please complete it and send it with your child on the morning of their trip. If we do not have a completed field trip form for your child, they will be unable to attend the trip. Thanks for your help with this and we apologize for the quick turn around time.

Monday will be Glenbow Ranch for AM kindergarten. There will be NO PM Kindergarten on Monday.
