Today is Take Me Outside Day. The AM learners went outside and played with various outdoor equipment such as skipping ropes and balls. They also had some time at the playground.
Our PM learners went to the hub and played an outdoor game. It is a circle game (with a song). Ask your child how to play.
Please always ensure your child is always dressed for the weather as today was extremely windy and cool.
We made an apple book, we used our fingers to tear paper into apple trees, apples, apple cores and seeds. Tearing paper is good practice to strengthen our fingers as we continue to further develop our fine motor skills. We are sending the books home with your child. Practice reading the book. Have your child use their finger and point to the words as you read through it.
Kindergarten Reading Challenge! Today your child brought home a sheet in their colored folder with 6 circles on it. Each time you and your child read a book together please fill out the circle and send it back to school. Please have your child write their name on the circle and cut it out. Both of these are great activities to help continue to develop fine motor skills. Please have your child ask for more sheets of colored circles when once they have brought all 6 completed circles back to school. We will be hanging the circles up at school to keep track of how many books we can read! Our goal to read 1000 books as a class!
Please note: you do not need to send the circles in the colored folder to school each time. Please send us the colored folders back as soon as possible and have your child bring their completed circles in their backpacks to school.
Reminder Friday is AM Kindergarten.
Fish Creek Park Field Trip on Monday (AM) and Tuesday (PM). We are still looking for a few more volunteers so if you can join us please send an email to your parent volunteer coordinator and let them know you can volunteer. Please return all complete and field trip forms. Please let your child's teacher know if your child will not be attending Fish Creek with us.
