Friday, Nov.8

Today was a busy morning.

We finished up tear art poppies and continued to learn about the community of Tuscany. We had lots of ideas to share about what we see in Tuscany. Answers included Eric Harvie School, Sobeys, Starbucks, playgrounds and parks, the slurpee store and even our houses!

We also practiced printing the letters p, b, t and d on whiteboards and learnt some silly songs to go along with them - to help us remember their sounds.

The grade 1/2 Peace Pod did an amazing job on our Remembrance Day Peace Assembly this morning. Reminder that there is no school on Monday, November 11.

Scholastic book orders are due on November 12 - you can order online or via cheque and the completed order form.

Our fire station visits continue next week:
The red group will be going to the fire station on Tuesday, November 12 during regular class time.  The blue group will be going to the fire station on Thursday, November 14 during regular class time.

 Have a great weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday.

Today was an outstanding day in Kindergarten.  We talked about what makes up a community and the interesting places we can find right in our own community of Tuscany.  We continued to explore community helpers and the jobs they do in our community.  We completed a journal response where we drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up. Our arrival centers included a chance to explore shapes.  We built buildings with shapes, used plasticine & toothpicks to make 3-D shapes, used geo-boards & elastics to make shapes and played shape roll & write.  Please ask your child what shape center they explored today.
