Literacy: Build a Fun Park
Materials:  paper tubes, cardboard, egg cartons, cereal boxes, scrap paper, tin foil, and anything else you might find in your recycling bin, glue, scissors or if you are not up to a messy project challenge your child to make a park out of Lego or other similar small building toys

Listen to the read aloud: Be A Maker

Step 1: Gather materials
Step 2: Build, tinker, mess around and play.  Encourage children to make and remake a fun park using the materials you've gathered.  Invite them to find more or different materials as they continue to build.  This could take 10 minutes or it could take all morning.
Step 3: Have your child play with their park.  Are characters emerging? Problems? Solutions?  Ask you child to tell an imaginary story about friends who have an adventure at the park!  Take a picture of your park and upload it to IRIS for us to enjoy!

My Daddy and Me.   Up On Daddy's Shoulders

Please make a Father's Day card for your dad.  Here is a picture of an idea for the front of the card.

Make a list of 5 things you love about your dad. Try drawing a little picture to go with each item. Make sure you sign your name on the inside. Hide the card away (if you can!) and give it to Dad on Sunday for Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all our Kindergarten dads! We hope you have a great day!
