Today we read the story, "Winter is the Warmest Season" and spoke about all the activities and things we see and do in Winter. We thought about what the title of the of the book and thought about how winter could be warm. We brainstormed ideas then read the story. We did a journal entry. Winter is the warmest season because..... Ask your child what they wrote about.

We went to the gym and played our circle Baker game.

We had Wonder Time today. Our challenge was, "Can you build a 2 story home for your stuffy?" We had time to explore and use different materials and then planned and built out our 2 story homes. We asked our learners to think about how their stuffy will get from one floor to the next? How will the stuffy stay warm? What does your structure need to include (roof, rooms, stairs etc.)

Ask your child what they used to create their structures. What challenges did they have? Was your structure sturdy, strong or weak?  What did they learn?

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity.
