Thursday November 14

Today we had Mr. Kelly come and do an art lesson with us. He taught us that we are all artist as we can draw simple shapes to make anything. We worked on drawing a fire truck. We added many details to the truck. We will be painting them with watercolor in the next coming days.

The PM students had Mr. Kelly come and read us the story, Ish by Peter Reynolds. We drew robots using simple shapes. Kindergarten is full of artists!!

The blue group went to visit the fire station. We had such a fun time getting to see where the firefighters work. We got to explore the firetruck and watch them get ready for a fire. They spoke to us about safety and items that are hot and not hot. Thank you to our parent volunteers that joined us today! :)

Mrs. Conley class and both PM classes went to gym today. What did they do?

Tomorrow is AM kindergarten. No school for PM.

Today was an outstanding day in Kindergarten.  We talked about what makes up a community and the interesting places we can find right in our own community of Tuscany.  We continued to explore community helpers and the jobs they do in our community.  We completed a journal response where we drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up. Our arrival centers included a chance to explore shapes.  We built buildings with shapes, used plasticine & toothpicks to make 3-D shapes, used geo-boards & elastics to make shapes and played shape roll & write.  Please ask your child what shape center they explored today. Please note the learning commons is closed this week for book exchange due to the set up of the book fair.
