Thursday November 7th

Today was a busy day at school. Our student teacher, Miss Standing taught us about Remembrance Day. We learned a poem about poppies and made our very own poppy. We used paper tearing to create the poppy. Tearing paper is a great skill to help strengthen our fine motor skills.

In the morning, we brainstormed about our community of Tuscany. Our kindergarten friends are very knowledgeable about what is found in Tuscany. Some favorite places of ours are Eric Harvie School, TMC park, the splash pad, Sobeys, the vet, the fire station, Starbucks and Tim Hortons.

We wish Mrs. Mask well as she recovers from illness. We are missing her at school and some of our friends made a giant card for her. This will surely brighten her day!

It was Tim Hortons fun snack today!  Yum!

In the afternoon, we had a guest teacher, Mr.Kelly. He taught us all about shapes and how to look for them when drawing objects. We then followed along as he showed us how to draw a fire station. We are such good artists. Then the green group went to the Fire Station and loved meeting all the firefighters and having them show us all their equipment. Ask me what my favourite part of the fire station visit was and what station # Tuscany is?

Please remember that tomorrow is PM Friday and they will attend from 8:20am - 12:00pm. There is no school on Monday, November 11 in honor of Remembrance Day.

The red group will be going to the fire station on Tuesday, November 12 during regular class time.  The blue group will be going to the fire station on Thursday, November 14 during regular class time.
