Tuesday November 12
Today was a great day at school! We read the story "Only One You" and talked about ways that we can help the community of Tuscany. What did your child draw?
We looked at circles (2D shapes) and spheres (3D shapes) and practiced drawing circles of various sizes in our inquiry journals. What are the similarities and difference between 2D and 3 D objects? Can you find any 3D objects at home?
The blue and yellow groups went to the gym while the green group went to the music. Please ask your child what they did in gym or music.
The PM students practiced a lockdown today. We talked about how we can be safe and how we look for a lock symbol in any classroom of the school. We will have a discussion and do a practice with the AM students tomorrow. Kindergarten did a fantastic job and the police officer came and told us how well we did.
The red group went to the Tuscany Fire Station! We had a fabulous visit and learned lots. We learned how important it is to know our address. Please practice with your child to learn their house address. We met 3 firemen and the fire captain. We took turns sitting in the front seat of the truck. Mrs. Conley tried on all of the fireman's equipment, it was very hot and heavy! Please ask your child what they enjoyed most at the fire station. Thank you to the volunteers who joined us for the trip, we appreciate the help.
The Blue group will go to the Fire Station on Thursday, Nov 14 morning during class.
Friday, Nov.15 is an AM Friday. There is no school for PM kindergarten.
Please use the link provided below in reference to the Early Year's Evaluation (EYE) that every kindergarten student is evaluated and assessed on. We will be sharing your child's results at our upcoming parent-teacher conferences. If you could please familiarize yourself with the EYE overview, that would be greatly appreciated as this will leave us more time to speak about your child's progress in the classroom.
