Tuesday November 5

Today we completed a guided drawing of a Fire Station. We looked out the window to see the Tuscany Fire Station and are getting very excited to be going on a visit very soon. We learned that the Tuscany Fire Station is #42.  We practiced writing the word fire station and the #42. The yellow group went this afternoon to learn from the firefighters. We learnt that it is very important to know our address so that the firefighters can help us if we ever need them. It was so much fun - the other groups can't wait to go and visit.

Scholastic Book orders went home today with the PM children. The AM children will bring their's tomorrow.  All book orders are due by Monday, November 11th.

In Kindergarten we have learned the letters p, b, and t (new this week). Please help your child to find these letters as they are looking at books. Please practice at home the sounds these 3 letters make. We are getting very good at finding words that start with these letters too!

Friday, Nov. 8 is a PM Kindergarten Day. There is no school for AM Kindergarten.

Tuscany Fire Station Tours - tours will happen during regular kindergarten school times. Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to join us, we appreciate the help! Please contact your volunteer coordinator if you have a valid police clearance and would like to volunteer to join your child on the trip.

Please remember to check your child's PowerSchool account to see the math learning intention that has been posted and evaluated. Click on the dashboard section and scroll down to Mathematics K to view their learning intention and comment. To view the literacy intention, please go back to dashboard and scroll down to English Language Arts K. The literacy comment portion will be made available on Nov.15. Our goal is to have one math and one literacy intention & comment done monthly in Kindergarten.

Jacket Racket last day for collection of items is Wednesday, November 6th!  Please send gently used winter wear including coats, mittens, scarves, hats, boots, etc. to school in a bag marked with the items and sizes inside. We appreciate your support of this much needed program! Thank you to all who have donated so far!
