Wednesday, Nov.6

Today we got to be architects! We planned, designed and created a tower out of various blocks of our choice. This included lego, building blocks, Kapla blocks and wooden blocks. It was so fun (a little bit challenging) to build and figure out how to make our towers stand up. Ask me about my design and how many blocks I built with.

Scholastic Book orders went home yesterday and today -  book orders are due by Monday, November 11th.

Friday, Nov. 8 is a PM Kindergarten Day. There is no school for AM Kindergarten.
The entire school will be briefly going outside during the grade 1/2 Peace Assembly on Friday morning, so please dress appropriately. 

Tuscany Fire Station Tours - tours will happen during regular kindergarten school times. Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to join us, we appreciate the help! Please contact your volunteer coordinator if you have a valid police clearance and would like to volunteer to join your child on the trip.

Please remember to check your child's PowerSchool account to see the math learning intention that has been posted and evaluated. Click on the dashboard section and scroll down to Mathematics K to view their learning intention and comment. To view the literacy intention, please go back to dashboard and scroll down to English Language Arts K. The literacy comment portion will be made available on Nov.15. Our goal is to have one math and one literacy intention & comment done monthly in Kindergarten.

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, November 11 due to Remembrance Day.

    This is Ariel's mom. I have a question.I can not find the "Math learning intention"in Ariel's CBE powerschool account. Was I wrong? Could you please give me a picture to show it or tell me how to find where is it?

Today was an outstanding day in Kindergarten.  We talked about what makes up a community and the interesting places we can find right in our own community of Tuscany.  We continued to explore community helpers and the jobs they do in our community.  We completed a journal response where we drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up. Our arrival centers included a chance to explore shapes.  We built buildings with shapes, used plasticine & toothpicks to make 3-D shapes, used geo-boards & elastics to make shapes and played shape roll & write.  Please ask your child what shape center they explored today.
