Monday December 9
Today we continued our exploration of the author Jan Brett. We read the story "The Mitten" again today. We listening to the order the order that the animals visited the mitten so that we could practice re-telling the story. As a group we had the chance to act out the story. Ask your child what animal they got to be in the mitten. Later, we used our paper mittens from last week to re-tell the story to a friend. A puppet theatre opened today in the classroom where we found the animals from the mitten and we had the chance to put on a puppet show with the animals.
We read, "Ten Black Dots" and brainstormed ideas of what we can make out of black dots. Students then made a picture using the black dots and wrote out what they drew and how many dots they used. Ask your child what they drew.
