There is no school on Friday for PM Kindergarten.  Friday is an AM Friday.  The last day of school before Christmas holidays is Thursday December 19.

Please join us for a celebration of our Green Fools residency.  PM Kindergarten sharing is in the gym on Thursday December 12 from 1:20-1:50pm.  AM Kindergarten sharing is in the gym on Friday December 13 from 11:15-11:45am.

Today we worked on making patterns.  We looked at AB, ABC and ABB patterns.  Please help your child to make patterns at home!

We continued to learn about Jan Brett.  Today we read "Gingerbread Friends" and then we used shapes to make our own gingerbread house.  We counted the number of shapes we used.  We also worked on comparing the characters and setting in Jan Brett's books.

PM kindergarten also looked at using a number line to help us count. We had to get in order from 1-10 and practiced counting forwards and backwards. We played a number line game with a partner. Y

Please note:  the AM trip to the vet for next week has been postponed.  The vet needs to complete an animal surgery prior to Christmas and was no longer available for a tour.  Both AM and PM classes will be going to the Tuscany Vet clinic in January.

Please remember to check PowerSchool for the final learning intention of 2019. It is under the math section.

Today was an outstanding day in Kindergarten.  We talked about what makes up a community and the interesting places we can find right in our own community of Tuscany.  We continued to explore community helpers and the jobs they do in our community.  We completed a journal response where we drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up. Our arrival centers included a chance to explore shapes.  We built buildings with shapes, used plasticine & toothpicks to make 3-D shapes, used geo-boards & elastics to make shapes and played shape roll & write.  Please ask your child what shape center they explored today.
