Friday January 17

Today was a fun morning in Kindergarten!  We started the morning with a guided drawing of a snowman.  We then used watercolors to paint the snowmen.  The snowman's toque is painted as a pattern, please ask your child what pattern they used for their snowman's toque.

We had centers in the gym.  We had the choice to play with the big blue blocks, play with equipment in the gym or climb on the climbing wall.  Please ask your child what they explored in the gym.

Mrs. Southworth came in to Kindergarten this morning to teach us about the zones of regulation.  We learned about what it looks like to be in the green and red zones.  This was a good opportunity for us to talk about our feelings.  Please ask your child what it looks like to be in the green zone or in the red zone.

On Monday all Kindergarten children will be walking to the Tuscany Vet clinic (located in the Sobey's plaza).  Please make sure your child is dressed for the walk to vet.  We are thankful that Mother Nature is cooperating and are excited to get out and explore the community.  Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to come on the trip with us, we appreciate your help!

Thank you to all parents who sent items in for our home reading treasure box!  We appreciate your generosity!  We have received many, many items and our beginning readers are excited to read 25 books so that they can pick a prize from the treasure box!

Kindergarten is collecting glass jars, such as pickle or tomato sauce jars for an upcoming art project.  If you have a clean, empty jar or 2 you would be willing to donate please send them to school with your child.

Next Friday Jan 24 is a PM Friday, there is no school for AM Kindergarten.
