Thursday January 30

We started our day with big centers and switching our home reading. Thanks to all our eager readers and parent support! If your child is not bringing a book daily, please ensure it is packed in their folder and placed in their backpack every night.

We had literacy centers. One group continued to work on their alphabet letter hunt and the other group read Superhero ABC's and practiced the sounds the letters make . We had to line up in order of the alphabet and sing the sounds each letter makes.

We finished the final page in our Winter, Winter, What Do You See book. We are very excited to share these books with you at our celebration of learning.

We had gym and practiced our passing skills with volleyballs.

We looked at Animal Homes in Winter and sorted which animals go underground, in water or in the forest.

Reminder, there is no school on Friday as it is a PD Day.

You can now access report cards online in Power School. If it is not working on the app (it should) but please try it from a desktop. They reports will be available at 3:05pm.

***Please fill out and send back the blue Who Do You Tell Permission forms on MONDAY if you haven't already. The program starts on Monday February 3 for Kindergarten and we need these forms in order for your child to participate. Thank you! ***

Warm Feet and Heads

This week, the Eric Harvie Peace Ambassadors are collecting warm, new or gently used, adult sized socks and hats for Calgary’s homeless.  After our recent cold spell, supplies are low at our city’s shelters and we want to help to fill them back up before the next cold snap hits.  There are collection bins and a display in the hub where students can drop off donations during ignite time each day.

Please ensure:

*socks are adult sizes
*gently used socks and hats are washed and do not have any holes
*socks are rolled into pairs
*they are high enough to cover cold ankles

Peace Ambassadors will be at our upcoming Sock Hop on Thursday evening to take donations as well!  If you would prefer to donate to our coin collection, Mrs. Zwack will happily purchase socks and hats.

Thank you for supporting our Warm Feet and Heads project!

Please use this link to practice the 7 Feet of Snow song for our upcoming celebration of learning.
