Wednesday January 8
During arrival centers this week, many of the centers involve subitizing games. Do you have any games at home that involve a dice? Can you add a second dice to the game to practice counting on?
All classes attended gym. The children are working on dribbling skills with a basketball.
We did an experiment today and tested out a variety of mittens in the snow. We used our criteria to test the mittens. Our criteria is: Is the mitten warm? Does the snow stay out?
Does it fit properly? Is it waterproof?
The students will be designing their own mitten using a variety of materials. The students came up with criteria for their mitten (waterproof, snow stays out, warm on the inside, fits properly) and we are looking for materials such as packing materials, bubble wrap, fabric, cotton batting etc. to assist them in their creations. PM will be designing a mitten on Friday and AM will be designing on Monday. If you have any items you would be willing to donate we appreciate it.
This Friday, January 10 is a PM Kindergarten day.
