AM kindergarten was very busy this morning finishing up everything for our Celebration of Learning.

Today we reread, "Not a buzz to be Found" and did a journal response about what insects do in the winter.

We went to gym and practiced our racketball skills. We are trying to balance and pass the ball to a partner.

The AM kindergarten put together our Winter Habitat for our plasticine animals. We are very excited to share our learning with you tomorrow. We have been working so hard these past few months. Please come to the main entrance. Doors will be locked until 10:55am . We will start our presentation at 11:00am. We look forward to seeing you!

We looked at the letter A and the sound it makes .We did a word hunt to find and read words that have A in them around the room. Can you find words at home or in the community that start with Aa?

PM Kindergarten read, "When Will It Be Spring?". We then did a guided drawing of a Bear in our visual journals. Ask your child, about Alfie the Bear in the story.

Tomorrow is AM kindergarten. No school for PM Kindergarten.

  • Swimming will be held April 20-23 and 27.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

Learning Intentions for the Week -  Early Literacy   I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences. I can identify my favourite stories and books. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity. I can compare quantities 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to post a daily read aloud in the read aloud section which is located on the left hand side of the blogger.
