Wednesday February 12

Today we celebrated Valentine's Day. Many of our friends brought valentine's for our classmates. We started the day by passing out the valentine's and having big centers.

We watched a video about Migration. Ask your child what migration means and why do animals migrate? We made a concept map about migration. We drew many animals that migrate in the winter months. Which one did your child draw?

We read a story about Butterflies (AM) and Sea Turtles (PM) and then did a guided drawing. The children did a great job with their drawings! They will be showcased at our celebration of learning. 

All classes had gym and we played junk in my yard.

There is no school Thursday Feb 13, Friday Feb 14 and Monday February 17th, for teacher's convention and the family day long weekend.

 AM Kindergarten will host their Winter Celebration of Learning at 11:00am on Feb 28.  PM Kindergarten will host their Winter Celebration of Learning at 11:00am on March 6.

Today was an outstanding day in Kindergarten.  We talked about what makes up a community and the interesting places we can find right in our own community of Tuscany.  We continued to explore community helpers and the jobs they do in our community.  We completed a journal response where we drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up. Our arrival centers included a chance to explore shapes.  We built buildings with shapes, used plasticine & toothpicks to make 3-D shapes, used geo-boards & elastics to make shapes and played shape roll & write.  Please ask your child what shape center they explored today.
