Today we had a busy day in Kindergarten. Since we couldn't be at Fish Creek Park, we created a scene of a tree and animal we would find there. We started by reading the story, "Tree" and then looked at some picture of Fish Creek Park through the seasons. We started by using watercolor to create the background. Then created our tree by following a step by step instruction from art hub for kids. We used watercolor to paint the tree and then drew and colored an animal from the park.

We also attended the assembly for the Read a Thon. Ask your child about their favorite Robert Munch story we viewed.

We have rescheduled our field trip for Friday April 3rd. We will be going with the PM kindergarten class. We realize this is a PM Friday and we are hoping that everyone will be able to attend. Sorry for the inconvenience, this was the only date that they could accommodate us. We will still be looking for volunteers to join us so please email your child's teacher if you can attend.

Today was an outstanding day in Kindergarten.  We talked about what makes up a community and the interesting places we can find right in our own community of Tuscany.  We continued to explore community helpers and the jobs they do in our community.  We completed a journal response where we drew a picture of what we want to be when we grow up. Our arrival centers included a chance to explore shapes.  We built buildings with shapes, used plasticine & toothpicks to make 3-D shapes, used geo-boards & elastics to make shapes and played shape roll & write.  Please ask your child what shape center they explored today.
