The Story of Little Red Riding Hood
Materials - computer, journal, pencil, crayons, pencil crayons
Please listen to Part 1 of Little Red Riding Hood here:
Little Red Riding Hood Part 1
When the first video is over, please use your blue journal to make a prediction of what you think will happen at the end of the story. Will Grandma be ok? What will happen to the wolf? What happens to Little Red Riding Hood? Please use your 5 star drawing when completing your response.
After you have made your prediction of what you think will happen, please watch part 2 of Little Red Riding Hood here:
Little Red Riding Hood - Part 2
How does your prediction compare to the ending of the story? Did you have the same ending as the author? Was your ending different? Which ending do you like better?
If you want, please email us with your story endings. We are curious to know how you think the story will end! This is optional 🙂
Math
Materials - Deck of Cards, dice
Watch the video to learn how to play the game here: Counting on game
Take a deck of cards and take out all of the face cards (J, Q, K and Joker) and place them off to the side. Place the deck of cards face down and then grab your dice. Flip the top card over and then roll your dice. Add the two numbers together counting on from the card. Play until you use the deck of cards.
Extension: flip two cards and add the dice, or flip a card and roll two dice
Challenge of the Day
Materials - any small toys (like Lego for example)
Use the toys to build and make your first name. If you are looking for an extra challenge, try building your last name too!
