For next week's google meet your child will participate in a scavenger hunt. During the chat, the teacher will hold up different letters and your child must go and find an item that begins with that letter. Your child does not have to prepare anything for this activity in advance.

We will also have crazy hat day for the google meet. Have your child wear or create a crazy hat to show to their friends during their meet time.

Math - Pond Problem
Materials- Blue journal, pencil, manipulative.

1. There were 10 legs around the waters edge at the pond. How many animals/ insects were there?

** Feel free to change the number of legs if you want a more challenging number. **

2. There were some animals/insects under the pond and some over the pond? In all there were 14 legs.  How many animals/insects were under and how many were over the pond?

Remember to do your drawing and show us your thinking. Number the legs to make sure you don't make a mistake.

Extension - Can you child find different ways to solve the same problem?

Happy Mother's Day to all the hard working Moms out there 😊. Thank you for all your ongoing support through this year and especially these past few months. We hope you have a lovely day with your family!

Challenge
Visit a pond over this weekend. Can you take a picture of something interesting you find while you are there? What animals do you see? What are they doing? Can you find a unique looking rock, stick or tree?

Post your photos here : Pond Life Pictures

I (Mrs. Mask) added a video of a bird I found when my family was out on a walk at a pond.  Who knows what it is? Listen to the sound it makes?

*For some reason, when we make the google photos shared folders, some people have difficulties uploading pictures. So feel free to email if doesn't work for you. Not sure why it doesn't work for everyone*
