Literacy
Materials - blue journal, pencil, pencil crayons
Task:
1. Put the title at the top of your page I Smell.
2. Draw pictures of at least 5 things that you might smell outside if you were joining these children on their adventure in the picture below. Imagine if you were going on a walk with these 4 children. What would you be able to smell along the way? What does the grass smell like? What would the air smell like? Are there any flowers to smell along the way? Where are they going? What does that place smell like? Is it a good smell or a bad smell? Why? Do the smells remind you of anything?
*If you need some ideas, refer to the second picture below.
Math: Nature Sink and Float
Materials: tub of water, items found in nature (rock, stick, leaves, pinecone, etc...)
Gather natural items. Test each object one by one. Predict before you put it in the water. Will it sink or will it float? Why do objects sink? Why do objects float? What happens if you stack objects one on top of the other, will they sink or float?
