LiteracyAll about insects! Day 1
Materials: Journals, pencils, pencil crayons

This week, we want you to choose one insect from the list below to learn about. Below is a non-fiction read aloud about each insect:

Butterfly read aloud

Bumble Bees read aloud

Grasshoppers read aloud

Ladybugs read aloud

Draw your own insect or click on the links to do a guided drawing of the insect of your choice:

Before you start, write the name of the insect at the top of your page.

Butterfly

Ladybug

Grasshopper

Bumblebee

The grasshopper and bee could be tricky as they have many steps so if you are up for the challenge try it 😊. If not, draw your own.

Math
Materials: Items in your house or yard

Listen to: Pattern Bugs

Let's go on a pattern hunt! Go around your house or yard and try and find patterns. Look for shape, color, size, words patterns. Do you see a pattern on any furniture items in your house? Books? Look closely, you can find patterns all over the house.

Extension:
Draw the patterns in your math journal and see if you can write what kind of pattern it is using the letters. For example, AB pattern.

Here are some patterns I found when I went looking in my house.
