Tuesday May 5

Storytimes this week are as follows:

Tuesday, May 5 2:00pm with Mrs. Watterson
Wednesday, May 6 10:00am with Mrs. Mask
Thursday, May 7 2:00pm with Mrs. Mask

The Google Meet code to join a storytime with one of the teachers is storytime.

If you plan to attend the storytime Google Meet, we ask that you please turn your microphone OFF as soon as you join the meet. We expect that there will be many Kindergarten friends who want to join and it can become very loud and distracting with so many friends all in the same Meet. Teachers will open the Google Meet 5 minutes prior to the story starting.

  • moose
  • beaver
  • raccoon
  • blackbird
  • trout
  • beetle
  • woodpecker
  • otter
Extension: What sounds can you hear from Mrs.Watterson's visit to the pond? Listen to the video (maybe even close your eyes so you can really concentrate). Write them down or draw them in your white visual journal.

Math: Count the Fridge

Please watch the video as Mrs. Conley gives you a tour of her fridge.  Mrs. Conley fridge tour

Now it's your turn, it's time to count the items in your fridge.  Please count the red, yellow, green, blue, and orange items in your fridge.  How many of each color do you have?  Which color items do you have the most of?  Which color do you have the least of?  What is your favorite color of food to eat?

Extension: Let's add some of the colors together. Please write the math number sentence to go with each color sentence.
1. red + blue =
2. yellow + red =
3. green + blue =
4. orange + red =
5. yellow + green =

If you are looking for an extra challenge try adding all the items you counted up together.  How many items did you count in total?

Challenge: Design and build a "boat" (made out of tin foil) that floats
Materials - tin foil, large tupperware/rubbermaid container or bowl of water
*Please keep your boat safe for tomorrow - you will need it for our next challenge 😊
