This week at school our focus will be on building a "Kinder-garden" in the windows of the Kindergarten classroom(s). Each day will focus on a new aspect of the garden. Today is about weeds & seeds. We are excited to watch our garden grow this week!

Please note:  Each day we will focus on one element of the garden. You and your child are welcome to drop off the new item each day at the school mailbox, or you can wait until Friday to drop off your items, or your child may choose to only make one item for the garden (and that's ok!) and drop it off when completed.  As always, we want to provide options for our families so that you can choose what works best for you and your family. There is no pressure from us to have your child complete all the elements of the garden.

Mailbox is available daily out front of the school from 9:00am-2:30pm.

We have a special request for you Kindergarten! Please watch our video:

We hope you will take part in our challenge 😊

Literacy/Art
Read aloud - Weeds Find a Way

Video - How does a seed become a plant?

Things to think about: How do weeds grow? How do their seeds spread? How can we keep the weeds from growing in our garden? Are they good to have or not? Why? Is there anything else you think our garden needs?

Task: Draw and create your own garden with everything we have learnt about this week.
Materials - white visual journal, pencil, pencil crayons
*please note that you do not need to drop off this drawing in the mailbox - keep it in your white visual journal
