Time Capsule

Invitation to Create a Time Capsule Memory

We are going to create a digital time capsule of memories from students of Eric Harvie School. 

We will also share your work with the Glenbow Museum – they are also collecting memories from Calgarians. Check out their website at https://glenbow.org/programs/dear-glenbow/

What to do:

Create a ‘before the pandemic’/’after the pandemic’ drawing, story, video clip, photo essay or whatever creative way helps you describe something in your life that is different now that you are living through a pandemic than it was before.

For example: how you play, school, family time, team sports, eating dinner, seeing your friends or grandparents, going on family walks, etc.

When you are finished with your creation, take a photo or upload to the google doc folder on your Pod Blog. We will retrieve it from there and add it to the Time Capsule.

Please place your photos of your work in the following folder


 Or create your own 2019-2020 Kindergarten Memories page in your visual journal. Label the top with the title and make drawings and write about your favorite memories from Kindergarten. 

 What were your favorite things about Kindergarten? Think about some of the following things:

 -Making new friends
-Reading stories
-Math game and activities
-Playing with others: Center time 
-Favourite activities
-Your favorite gym game or Green Fools
-Music class memory

-Visiting the learning commons

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

Learning Intentions for the Week -  Early Literacy   I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences. I can identify my favourite stories and books. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity. I can compare quantities 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to post a daily read aloud in the read aloud section which is located on the left hand side of the blogger.
