Learning Intentions for the Week - Early Literacy 
  1. I can express ideas and develop my understanding by sharing personal experiences.
  2. I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them.
  3. I can be curious and have a willingness to learn about the environment.
  4. I can manage my ideas.  I can plan and focus to create a contribution to a collaborative project.
Learning Intentions for the Week - Math 
  1. I can say the number sequence 1 to 10 by 1s, starting anywhere from 1 to 10 and from 10 to 1.
  2. I can demonstrate an understanding of repeating patterns using manipulatives, sounds and actions.
This week at school our focus will be on building a "Kinder-garden" in the windows of the Kindergarten classroom(s). Each day will focus on a new aspect of the garden. Today is fruits and vegetable day! We are excited to watch our garden grow this week!

Please note:  Each day we will focus on one element of the garden. You and your child are welcome to drop off the new item each day at the school mailbox, or you can wait until Friday to drop off your items, or your child may choose to only make one item for the garden (and that's ok!) and drop it off when completed.  As always, we want to provide options for our families so that you can choose what works best for you and your family. There is no pressure from us to have your child complete all the elements of the garden.

Mailbox is available daily out front of the school from 9:00am-2:30pm.


Literacy
Materials: Journal or paper, pencil,  pencil crayons and scissors 


Draw your own fruit or vegetable or click on the links below to follow a guided drawing from art hub for kids. 







Math
Materials: chalk and dice

 Build your own Snakes and Ladders Game. If you don't have chalk, play a boardgames with someone in your family.

1. Review the etiquette for attending a Google Meet with help from your parents (see picture above). 2. Log into your Google Meet at the time of your session  (instructions below)  * If your teacher has not yet joined the google meet you will not be able to join. Please do not try to go into the meet earlier than the time stated.   3. Listen to your teacher and classmates. 4. At the end - leave meeting, log out of google and close your browser. *Please continue to review the etiquette sheet with your child when you have time. Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  Kindergarten was very fun today.  All of our arrival centers were about Halloween. We printed halloween words, played bingo, roll and count game with rings, crafts etc. We loved seeing everyone dressed up in their costumes!  We drew pictures of ourselves in our Halloween costumes in our journals.  Some of us drew pictures of pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and trick or treating with our families.  We used Smarties to sort by color and graph the number of Smarties in the box.  Ask your child what color they had most in their box.  After students graphed their Smarties, they got to eat them.  This was the highlight of their day! All students had gym today with Mr. Der . What game did your child play today? Ask them to share. Students came home with overflowing colored folders.  Please empty the folders out and return them on Monday.  Every child has more book circles in their folders.  Thank you for continuing to read with your child and send the circles back.  We are

I can use drawings to illustrate ideas and information, and talk about them. Learning Intentions for the Week -  Numeracy / N umber Sense I can represent and describe numbers 2 to 10, concretely and pictorially. I can relate a numeral, 1 to 10, to its respective quantity. I can compare quantities 1 to 10, using one-to-one correspondence. We have continued to post a daily read aloud in the read aloud section which is located on the left hand side of the blogger.
